Which materials do you need to make an egg chair?

There is a wide range of materials needed in order to make an egg chair. The following are the most common:

– A sturdy base or stand – this can be made from metal, wood, or plastic and will act as the foundation for your egg chair.

– Chair cover/ upholstery – there are many different types and colors of fabric that can be used to upholster your egg chair. Make sure to choose a fabric that is durable and comfortable.

– Batting/ stuffing material – batting is often used as cushioning inside furniture cushions; you may also want to use some type of stuffing material (such as foam) for extra comfort.

– Springs – if you’re using a metal base for your egg chair, you’ll need springs in order to create tension and support the weight of the user. Metal coils work well for this purpose.

How do you identify the right size for your egg chair?

The egg chair is a unique type of furniture that has enjoyed popularity for many years. It is generally considered a mid-century modern classic, and can be an attractive addition to any room. While there are some general guidelines that can help you determine the right size for your egg chair, it is ultimately important to consider your specific needs and preferences when making this decision.

One of the main things to keep in mind when choosing the size of your egg chair is how much space you have available. The average dimensions for an Egg Chair range from 48”x48”x60”to 54”x54”x70“, so make sure to measure the space where you plan on placing it carefully. If you have a smaller space, opting for an armless version of the Egg Chair may be a better option.

Another factor to consider is how you will use the egg chair. If you plan on using it primarily as a reading spot or meditation nook, then sizing down may be ideal so that you can snuggle up inside comfortably. On the other hand, if you want to use it as occasional seating for guests, going with one of the larger sizes would be more appropriate.

Of course, comfort should also be taken into account when selecting the size of your egg chair. Some people prefer chairs that are on the snugger side while others prefer more wiggle room. Ultimately, finding what works best for you is key!

What kind of knots are used to attach the ropes together?

There are a variety of knots that can be used to attach ropes together. The knot you choose will depend on the type and size of rope, as well as the desired strength and security of the connection. Some common knots include the clove hitch, bowline knot, sheet bend, and fisherman’s knot.

The clove hitch is a versatile knot that can be quickly tied and is relatively secure. It is ideal for connecting two ropes of similar diameter together. To tie a clove hitch, make a loop in one rope and pass it around the other rope. Tuck the end of the first rope underneath its own loop and pull tight.

How tight should the ropes be around the frame of the egg chair?

When making an egg chair, the ropes should be tight around the frame. This will ensure that the chair is sturdy and does not wobble. The ropes can be tightened by adjusting the clamps at either end of the frame.

Where can you find a tutorial on how to make an egg chair?

A tutorial on how to make an egg chair can be found at many websites online. One particular website that has a helpful tutorial for completing this DIY project is called “Instructables.” The author of this website provides clear, step-by-step instructions with accompanying photos for readers who want to make their own egg chair.

The first step in the process is assembling the materials needed for construction which include: 1 yard each of two different fabrics, one heavyweight fusible interfacing, 2 yards of binding tape (or bias binding), quilt batting or foam, scissors, needle and thread, ruler or measuring tape, iron and ironing board. After acquiring all necessary supplies, cut out two identical side panels from fabric using a ruler or measuring tape and scissors. The author advises readers to take into consideration the size they would like their finished egg chair to be when cutting the fabric.

After both panels are cut out, interface one panel with heavyweight fusible interfacing following manufacturer’s directions; then do the same with the other panel. This will help give structure and stability to your egg chair later on. With right sides together (the interfaced side should be facing inward), sew around three edges of each panel using a ¼ inch seam allowance; leave one short edge open so you can turn it right side out later on. Clip corners and curves as needed; then turn them right side out through the opening left earlier. Sew close to edge all around top curve – making sure not TOO close otherwise you’ll end up sewing your opening closed! Next, place quilt batting or foam inside each sewn panel before closing up that opening by stitching it shut by hand (or machine if desired). Finally, bind both long edges of your seat cushion with binding tape – again being careful not TOO close to edge so as not to cover up your stitch work earlier.. And voilà ! You have successfully created an egg chair!

Safety restrictions are lifting across the EU

It has been an incredible last few days here in Ireland. All of a sudden the government lifted restrictions on all businesses including closing times for hospitality, Covid passes for bars and the gym and all other restrictions. This came all of a sudden and it was quite a (welcome) shock to most people. With cases being higher than ever before there was talk of schools not opening after Christmas and now 3 weeks later we have no restrictions.

This led to the weekend gone being “freedom weekend” and there was quite a buzz around the place. With this in mind it is time to travel traveling again. First up will be a trip to Portugal where I will go for a week and work remotely on my work and safety boot business. This business obviously focuses on work wear, safety boots for the workplace and work trousers. This will be a long term business as opposed to some of my other works which were more jumping on trends rather than starting something as sustainable as safety boot supplies.

Work boots come with a range of safety features such as anti static, steel toe, waterproof and fire proof. Most work places will require their employees to invest in at least the very basic type work boot known as SBP. These sort of safety boots will have a steel toe and are anti slip and they are the most basic of the all work boots.

We will also be providing some more fashionable safety shoes such as safety trainers. These look like normal trainers but will have the SBP features so they are still acceptable to wear in most work environments. Anyway this is the plan whilst I am traveling over the nect few months. I hope to go to the Canaries after Portugal but we will see how things are looking in the next few weeks as it is very hard to predict what will be going on in the world with Covid ec.

Top 3 things to bring when traveling as an athele – top tip – massage gun is one of them!

travel massage gun

With international travel slowly coming back to most parts of the world apart from the Australia and NZ people are starting to get excited about traveling again. The EU were the first to reopen the borders and they did a good job of trying to keep things open as much as possible during the pandemic. The USA has now announced that it will be open from November to fully vaccinated people so that is also another big plus and will surely pick up a lot of interest.

So now that traveling again is back on the menu here are the top 3 things that we recommend you bring traveling for your 2022 trip.

  1. Mini massage gun – OK this might seem like an odd one but as you get older you will appreciate having such a device on your trip! A massage gun uses percussion to work out the knots in your muscles that you can get whilst carrying heavy travel bags around with you during your trip. Usually these come with multiple heads for different body types. I brought one on my trip in 2020 and used it daily as part of my recovery trip from a year of working out and work stress. I got mine from the massage gun Ireland official store.
  2. Yetti flask – this is also a must! The yetti flask is perfect for keeping your tea/coffee warm and you will save a fortune on when traveling as you can make these in your hotel.
  3. Travel pillow – again a must and speaks for itself! Every backpacker must have a good travel pillow for the plane, bus, train etc!

Comment below on what you think your top 3 things are to bring backpacking…we would love to hear about them!

How Covid-19 sparked an electric scooter revolution

Electric scooters have been on the scene for quite some time now however in Ireland they have yet to be made road legal. One thing that did come out of all of these covid restrictions and lockdowns was that people were doing their best to stay off of public transport and away from buses, trains or any other enclosed places where they are more likely to pick up the virus.

This has led to a huge surge in the sales of electric scooters. The main electric scooter on the market now is the Xiaomi 1S electric scooter. Not only is this the most popular scooter today but it is the best in its price range. There are of course many knock offs that look similar but do not have the same quality of battery, warranty and are generally just not as safe the original Xiaomi scooters.

By using an electric scooter people are able to commute more safety in terms of talking about the corona virus. It means people can commute to work without worrying about being on a packed bus or train and this generally causes anxiety. With the Xiaomi 1S scooter having a distance of 30kms it plenty for most people to get to work and back on a full charge. There is also the Xiaomi Pro2 which is the upgraded model and that has a superior range of 45kms on a full charge..that is quite a distance indeed.

So if you are looking for a way to commute to work and want to avoid being in crowds then this could be a great option for you too. Electric scooters are set to be made road worthy at some stage this summer in Ireland so now there is really no barrier to entry to start your scooting adventure!

Work Remotely in Comfort

There is definitely a new trend in the world of business that allows for a new means of productivity and working. In a substantial effort to reduce overhead and help to control costs of all kinds, more businesses today are moving more toward allowing employees to work remotely and not have to come into the office except for meetings and other collaborative projects. With this being very commonly the case, there should be an understanding of the characteristics of the best modern gaming chairs for the home on the market today.

Having the opportunity to work at home is something that does come with benefits and downfalls. One can avoid costly commutes and wardrobes while there are still issues that often surround productivity and other distractions commonly associated with this process. One of these problems is making sure that you have a comfortable and functional gaming chair at home so that you can do your work without any distraction.

The marketplace for modern gaming chairs is something that is filled with quite a few options. The proliferation of seating is often very confusing yet still something that should be carefully reviewed and considered to make an informed choice. Hence, the common characteristics one should look for are quite easy to spot.

The best gaming chairs are, of course, those that are very comfortable. Of course, one wants to ensure that they are not too comfortable as this could make anyone less productive and want to fall asleep as opposed to work! So, you want to try out the chair before you buy it. You also want to assess the chair for its ergonomic capabilities to make sure it has proper back support as well as other features that provide you with comfortable and supportive seating.

Durable and good quality materials are also a very important thing to look for in modern office chairs from housetech.ie. One should stick with a higher quality leather as other materials are more economical but are prone to not last as long. Thus, ensure this is a very heavy consideration.

It should also be very compatible with the desk and other items that are purchased as well. Naturally, gaming chairs that are too high and bulky are often difficult to fit under the desk and can make typing very uncomfortable.

Finally, one should factor in the price of modern gaming chairs especially if you are on a tight budget. OF course, you want to buy the best one you can in your price range because with chairs, as with anything else, you often get what you pay for.
